Double Portrait Locket

This rather thick and heavy gold locket has engraved enamelwork on the front and floral engraving on the back. It opens to show two photographs.

English lever action 18 K open-face pocketwatch, hallmarked from Chester.

Top Hat 2

Beaver felt top hat, dated 1868.

Top Hat 1

Stovepipe style black 1850s top hat, probably in beaver felt. Note the flat brim and relatively straight sides. The flare at the top is caused by the overlap of the covering and mull of the tip against the covering of the band.

Frock Coat 1

Late 1850s to early 1860s black wool frock coat, thought to be a fine wool Melton with some fur content.

Insects are a common Victorian motif in jewelry. Micromosaics were common souvenirs from Italy of the Grand Tour (along with lava cameos). This example, set in gold is about the size of a dime.
