The lady in this cameo is one of the muses, Erato, the muse of love poetry. Her signs are the lyre and the crown of roses.

Branch Coral Brooch

A piece of branch coral is used as the stem of a grape vine in this brooch. The frame is a drawn gold tube.

Mother of Pearl - Star Brooch

Very ornate star pattern, set with rhinestones on mother of pearl. Twisted wirework decorations. The overall feel is of mid to late Victorian work.

A nicely-carved leaf-shaped ivory brooch, the clasp is glued onto the back, and is likely not original.

Insects are a common Victorian motif in jewelry. Micromosaics were common souvenirs from Italy of the Grand Tour (along with lava cameos). This example, set in gold is about the size of a dime.
