English lever action 18 K open-face pocketwatch, hallmarked from Chester.

The enamel dial has no second hand. The dial has a recessed center. Numerals include the four shown as IIII rather than IV. The crystal hinges so that the key can set the watch on its face.

The brass hands have a butterfly motif. The extremely fine hand work needed to make these hands was a way of showing off the quality of the precision of the watchmaker. The case back has a scenic/floral pattern rather than the less costly engine-worked engraving.
