Frock Coat 1

Late 1850s to early 1860s black wool frock coat, thought to be a fine wool Melton with some fur content.

Interior Black Crepe Lining has been quilted in a idiamond pattern. The underneath is lined in coarse red wool. The lower part of the lining is not handsewn.

Upper Interior Back Neckline has lining of wool melton that is lined in coarse red wool & has been stitched diagonally & "pinked" on lower edge hem. The Interior closure linings are the wool melton & have been stitched acros.

The underside of the collar is handstitched vertically with handsewn edges. The interior of the lapel folds are stitched vertically.

Inner lining is a blue racing/hunting print with hounds and rabbits. Sleeve lining is ecru/tan.

Notched Pointed Lapels with 5 Buttons Holes running down each one and 5 black satin covered buttons on each side. The interior lower back has two side slash pockets of polished brown cotton. There are two buttons on the hem.

Shoulders across 18". Sleeve Length from back mid-seam to end of cuff 38" each. Sleeve Length from Shoulder Seam 27" each. Armholes 16-1/2" around each. Chest stretches 40" when just touching/slight gap up top. Total Length 31"-32
